CyclePathic Tendencies

We at Team Miracle have just added a new event to the roster for this year, and I won't lie... It's a biggie! Thanks to Stacy's efforts we are signed up for the 24-hours of adrenaline at Laguna Seca on May 2nd. Starting at 12pm on Saturday May 2nd the first of our team members will set off on the course and we won't stop the relay for 24 hours! Each lap follows the Sea Otter course and should take about an hour and a half to complete. Depending on the schedule, a good percentage of our team will be riding said course in complete darkness (aided by headlights of course...) Back on "adrenaline island" we'll have two campsites set up where we'll be staging, planning, encouraging, fueling and generally having a great time. I've volunteered myself as team mechanic and with the aid of my trusty stand I'll be helping get everyone's bikes up to speed for their laps.

CyclePathic Tendencies is sponsored by Stacy's growing Athletic Training and Rehabilitation business, Core Therapy.

I must comment that the team name is f---ing genius, and perfectly hilarious.

I can not begin to imagine how surreal it will be to ride the course in the dark...if I am one of the lucky ones who get to. Imagine suiting up and heading out into the wilerness at 3AM to carry the batton, while the rest of the team is back at camp, all bundled up in the monterey cold, waiting their turn, or recouperating with a handle of cheap brandy.

Those other teams better beware, we have a secret weapon... It is our tiny-yet-mighty team capitan, Stacy "girl power" Schroeder!
-So watchout!

Thanks to our most psycho... uh I mean cycle-pathic team member Jesse for the oh-so-perfect team name!

If it were left up to me we might have wound up with something like "Girls Rule" or "Flower Power". Jesse probably saw that coming and quickly started suggesting way "cooler" names. Good thing...considering I'm the ONLY girl on the team!!!! Go figure.

Can't wait! There's something serenely beautiful and just a bit wacky about looking forward to getting on your mountain bike while sleep-deprived and freezing... in the middle of the night.

Can't wait! As the sun falls that night, it is going to be very strange to still be preparing to ride. We'll get you a shift in the dark, Z! Seems like most of us will have to runs out there if we're quick enough!! Can't wait to see you all again! I miss my team!!

I'm official and I want a night time slot. Cyndie is going to be the official volunteer, but don't worry she'll probably be asleep by 10pm.
